The kitchen . . . our messy kitchen/dining room area, the busiest place in the house LOL. The pen that you see in the corner is where the baby puppies are raised (top pen) and the younger ones are housed when we aren't here (not often :-) |

The bookshelf huddle . . . A closer look at the bookshelf huddle . . . don't ask me what goofy Morgan is doing on the left here, she looks like she's frozen with fright. Funny picture of her, and she's really so cute. She was about 6 months old in this photo, and in the "uglies".
This shelf is beside my desk (now in the basement at the new house) and the dogs love to congregate there on and around the bottom shelf. I accommodate this with cushions on the shelf LOL. |

Dairy bar LOL . . . Gabby was the only Mom in site so all three litters lunged for her. They're all about the same age, 8 weeks. Of course, non of the mom's have any milk. But hey, no harm in trying :-)
The one belly up is Toby, the only boy in the three litters |

Our so-called "Kennel" Our dogs are not caged as a matter of routine - they do not live in these pens. They live with us! We use the pens to keep them safe when neither of us is home - since my daughter works home full-time with the dogs, that is not often. |
New pens . . . this is where some of the dogs stay when we aren't home . . . but they're never penned when we are home, they are always out with us, either upstairs or down here (where I spend most of my time). The new pens are very well ventilated, let in lots of light, are hygienic and easy to keep clean ~ much better than some of the wooden ones I had been using. They're safe for all the dogs including the climbers (we've had our share of those lately LOL). They are also quite roomy, the smallest ones are 42" x 27" which is plenty of room for a small dog provided it isn't where they spend all their time. We do not support caging dogs on a regular basis . . . its a place to keep them safe "on occasion". They are social animals and need to live in "community". The bottom pens are rarely used, that's why they look rather bare. |
My corner . . . you can see the TV here just behind one of the pens and also my desk, computer etc. I spend a lot of time on the computer, what with all the websites I do and the Pomeranians in Canada magazine that I edit . . . this is where it all gets done. You can see the pillow under my desk (right under the keyboard LOL). The dogs love lying at my feet when I'm on the computer; some times four or five are in there at the same time ~ and it's not a very big space LOL. |
Sofa/sewing corner . . . Had to fence this area off to make sure they don't get into the sewing stuff and electrical cords. I only let them in this area when I'm in there. The sofa is old, and beat up thanks to the dogs, but its comfy. Sometimes I even sleep down here. Also a safety feature as some of the puppies have managed to jump up on the sofa and I'm afraid they will hurt themselves. They're only allowed in this area when I am in there!
There's actually a room behind this wall that's about 10x12. It was used as a wood room, but I may open it up and take it into this room as well . . . give me a bit more room in my corner LOL! |
My study/book area . . . good thing this is a big room or the dogs would have to move out to make room for my junk. I really do spend a lot of time down here though, and the dogs hang out wherever I am in the room. It is a large room, 27 x 16 feet with a separate 10 x 12 grooming room and bathroom. I started putting some of the ribbons up when I moved out herein 2002 but never got it finished. Another job I'm leaving till I retire in 2008 LOL |
Other pens . . . There's a closet for my sewing material behind the big shelf you see here. The chrome pens at this end of the room are moved upstairs to the kitchen when we have a litter. I made the shelves to fit snuggly and a securely on top of these pens, great for the boys belly bands (the red bin) and a stack of newspapers. |

Supply corner . . . Kinda messy . . . but it serves the purpose |

To the grooming room . . . This door leads out into the hall and grooming area/bathroom |

Grooming room . . . Newly renovated . . . got rid of the laundry tub, put in a proper kitchen cabinet with a 10-inch deep sink, also put in a built-in table and a small set of overhead shelves. A little untidy, but a big improvement over what it was LOL. It also doubles as the bathroom, just can't see the rest of the room in these photos. |
The hall . . . looking out from the grooming/bathroom . . . still haven't got around to putting up the molding around the doors, low on the list of priorities right now LOL |
